New Jersey Lemon Law Information
New Jersey Lemon Law help and information.
The New Jersey lemon law and other Federal warranty statutes are meant to protect consumers from bad products. There are various New Jersey lemon law lawyers who can help you decide if your case is worth pursuing.
The New Jersey Lemon Law applies to both new and used cars either purchased or leased that suffer from a defect or condition that impairs the use, value or safety and the defect cannot be repaired after 3 attempts by an authorized manufacturer's dealership.
The defect must first occur within the first 24 months or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. The New Jersey Lemon Law also applies to vehicles that are in the shop for repair twenty (20) or more calendar days during the first year.
Worth noting is that if your car falls outside of these guidelines of the New Jersey lemon law, there are still Federal laws which may also protect you. If your car has an original or extended manufacturer's warranty and has a problem that can't be fixed after three repair attempts, chances are you would be wise to speak with a lawyer about your New Jersey lemon law and Federal lemon law rights.
The New Jersey Lemon Law is not easy for "regular" consumers to understand and it can be very confusing if you don't know how it works. If you live in New Jersey and think your car may have a defect that may be covered by the New Jersey lemon law, be sure to speak with an attorney.
